I’ve been messing around with this song for years and I started playing it yesterday when I was recording. I was listening back to all the crap I recorded yesterday and I gave it a quick experimental mix. I’ve got a feeling that I’ll be filling this website pretty soon with a whole bunch of these kind of MP3s. I really must get around to finishing some songs off at some point. I guess now is probably the time…

I’ve not been this excited about recording music since when I first got my Tascam MF-P01 years ago!

Just recorded a new song snippet. It’s a work in progress but I’m quite pleased with it. I was just messing around with my new mixer and this is what I recorded. It’s the first time I’ve been able to record a demo playing and singing at the same time. That is something that is earth shattering for me ;)

Obviously it still needs some work and shit but it’s a new sound for me. Sorry if it sounds a bit teenage angst, surprisingly I feel upbeat recording, mixing and uploading it. Yay for “Musical Therapy”

This is the song I’ve been playing around with for a few days. It’s going to be an instrumental track that I’ll probably make into a proper song soon enough.

I think it’s quite catchy and has got a lot of scope into mixing and remixing. Depending on how I find it going I might upload the basic tracks for other people to use too. That’ll be a fun experiment.

It’s been quite a nice few days. Trawling through a bunch of old stuff is always fun for me. It’s like a living breathing scrap book. I’m actually surprised how much stuff I can salvage from a hard drive. It’s really made me want to think about trying to record a full length album again. I know I touched upon it yesterday but having had time to think about it further I want to do it even more. There were a whole bunch of ideas I had that I really would like to try and do.

When it’ll come to getting the album out there, I will more than likely have it for download for free but I also like the idea of having a phsyical version of it. I’ve had ideas for that for ages. I kind of want something I can show the grand kids many years down the line. I also like the idea of giving it away for free or for a small fee. The small fee being giving me a blank CD to trade for a CD with the album copied upon it. It’ll be funny, but the only problem would be getting peoples interest up. I’ll record the album then start trying to gig.

Recording an album?

Something very funny has happened today. I started going through a bunch of old files and folders and stuff and I have found a load of my old demos and shit. I love listening through old stuff especially if it means I can remix it. I have made a new remix of my song “Theme From The Dead Horses” and it was odd to hear each part of the song on it’s own possibly for the first time again and it’s made me want to try and record that fateful album that never materialized back in 2006. Here are some video blogs when I was optimistic etc.

I really hope I can get around to recording a CD. I had so many hopes and dreams for it that I want to use before I forget and all I’ll have is a sad look on my face and a bag of what ifs when I’m pottering around an old peoples home before I die. Yeah, I’m cheeful. I’m optimistic.
